About the Project
Central Waters Brewing Company, headquartered in Amherst, WI, took over a historic building in Milwaukee’s brewery district—formerly home to Pabst Brewing and its eclectic collection of signage and artwork. I was commissioned to paint CW’s fresh logo on the exterior, and while working on the project, I developed a concept for the building’s giant interior wall of glass bottles.
Because the lighting on the display wasn’t fully operational, I covered four glass panels entirely and used the illuminated center panels as anchors for the design. The mural celebrates the migration of part of Central Waters’ brewing operations from Amherst to Milwaukee, with the blue heron derived from CW’s branding. The finished piece blends the building’s history with CW’s brand identity, creating a vibrant, site-specific artwork that resonates with both the company and the community.
