About the Project

Health Net Rock County is a free and charitable medical clinic in Janesville, Wisconsin. In the summer of 2022 they were finalizing the renovation of new larger space for their facilities. I responded to a call for artists organized by Integrated Arts Group of Madison, WI. The Health Net CEO and board chose my design concept and together we revised and expanded the work to include exterior and interior murals as well as select wayfinding imagery.

The design is intended to welcome patients and visitors with a vibrant yet calming art experience. The figures are all abstracted to allow anyone to connect and see themselves. The imagery represents the HealthNet concepts of hope, help and healing. The plants and flowers are found locally; most are common to our backyards and home gardens and all have medicinal or nutritional value.

The interior mural and wayfinding bring the style and imagery from the exterior mural into the space to create a cohesive and predictable experience for the visitor.
